The other day i was low on funds and was in an emergency situation. My mind was moving furiously, thinking of how to access some money. Off course my first thought of help was my wife and especially because i knew i had sent her a few thousands just the day before. I called and made my request known to her only to be disappointed. She claimed she had already spent the money but something told me she was lying to me.
I developed this curiosity of wanting to know if she was being honest with me. Could it be that she had money in her Mpesa account but was refusing to help me? I knew i couldn’t tell her point blank to her face unless i had enough evidence. I had to find a way somehow of getting that evidence.
I managed to get her phone, went straight to her message box, and was again disappointed because all her texts had been deleted. My first idea had hit a wall. Damn!
The other way i could use was by checking her Mpesa balance. But i knew i had a zero chance here because i didn’t know her Mpesa PIN. And there was no way she was going to give it to me even under gun point.
That’s when this genius idea flashed through my mind! Hooray…!

I picked her phone and dialled *234# on her Safaricom line. I then selected 5 which gives you the Mpesa Information option. Next i chose 1 which is Mpesa Statement. After this i selected 1 again which gives you the option of a full Mpesa statement. Right after this i entered my wife’s ID number. And then i entered my email address. I only had to wait a moment before i received an email from Safaricom and then Voila!
To cut a long story short, i received even more than i had bargained for! I got to see not only her Mpesa balance but also her whole one year’s Mpesa statement.
